There are maps that the library may have on how to do the trail, but it's like trying to follow Route 66, almost impossible to do from beginning to end. There has been a push to eventually have a continuous trail. There are parts of the river in Mission Valley where there is a dry bank, picnic tables set up, etc., but I don't think there is one continuous trail that traces the river for any distance.
