  • Are there any good free registry cleaners that actually remove the problems their scans find?

Posted by admin on November 29th, 2009 and filed under registry cleaners | 11 Comments »

I have already installed other cleaners like "Registry Optimizer", "Regseeker", and "Registry Bot" so far they all find different problems and don’t seem to fix or remove any of them. My OS is windows 98 and my computer is a Compaq and it is a little on the older and slower side. Any and all help would really be appreciated.

i really dont believe in them .. i started using them a couple of years ago and found that they really wind up causing more problems than they fix .. i never use them at all anymore and all my machines work great ..

that guy is right, CCleaner is very good, but if you want to find deep deep inside your own system you needa do it manually

Sure, CCleaner is a good one. I’ve used it reliably for a year now. It is free with regular updates and is probably the most well rounded…check it out, Good Luck!

I actually prefer to keep my system clean with a monthly run of MS safety scan.

I also have Windows 98. First of all close some of your start up programs that you don’t need. The main ones you need is system tray and explorer on your start up menu. Than go windows files and find history and delete the files that are in their those are files of web sites that you visit delete those files. than go to temp. inernet files and delete those files. Than scan- disk your C drive. Than do a defrag of your C drive. Do you have any anti virus programs that might help also.

Kaspion … Yes, I also endorse using CCleaner. However, I cannot testify to how well it will work with Windows ‘98. Check their FAQs and release notes to determine whether it’s suitable for Windows ‘98. You may need to download an earlier version. You might find them at the CCleaner site and I think I may have also seen earlier versions at the CNet website. Just go to http://www.cnet.com, click on the Downloads tab, and search for all versions of CCleaner.

      Good luck, Kaspion.
