Are registry cleaners good to run on your PC?

My PC is slow at startup, is it good to run a registry cleaner? I thought I heard they were bad to run. Also, all my anti-virus stuff, spyware, degrag…etc is all ok…it is something outside of that.

Thanks in advance!

If you get a pretty reputable one, they probably won’t cause any problems. However, since they are messing around with the Windows Registry (the backbone of the entire system), there is always a possibility of problems.

However, even if you get a good one, there is very little evidence to suggest that they do any good. Here’s an article that explains why registry cleaners shouldn’t be used as part of a computer cleaning routine.

So unless you have a specific problem with your registry, staying out of it is the best idea.
