Do you know any of the next malls, Las Américas, Horton Plaza, Missions Valley? What mall would you recomend?

I will go to Tijuana and one day I want to go cross to San Diego. I will have few hours. Do you know any of these malls: Las Américas, Horton Plaza, Missions Valley? Any other? What would you recommend? I am specially interested in Las Américas because is in the border with Tijuana (I can save time and money in transportation), but do you know about the prices, will there be about the same than in other stores in the US, cheaper or more expensive?

Thank you very much! And thanks a lot for the people that sugest me about the malls above!

Las Americas will certainly be the most convenient since it is just across the border. I’ve never been there, so I can’t say whether it is good or not. see the first link for a list of their shops.

Horton Plaza is in downtown San Diego, and you will probably have to pay for parking if you drive – but most stores will validate your parking. Horton Plaza has lots of shops but the layout can be a little confusing if you don’t know your way around. The food court is on the top level, and there are also some nicer restaurants up there as well. See the second link for their website to see which stores they have.

Mission Valley Center has a more conventional layout, and a good variety of stores. (third link) Like someone else mentioned, it is a popular teen hangout, since there is a big movie theater and quite a few teen-oriented stores. Around Mission Valley are a few other strip malls and commercial areas for other stores that might be interesting to you – Old Navy, Best Buy, Borders, etc. It’s a bit further away from the border than the other two.

Near Mission Valley Center is Fashion Valley, which also has a lot of stores. See the 4th link.

Both Mission Valley Center and Fashion Valley are also on the trolley line.

Personally, i think mall stuff probably costs the same at all malls, but Las Americas is supposed to have outlet shopping, so it might be cheaper. There is also good outlet shopping at Viejas (east of san diego) and Carlsbad (north of san diego).
