What are the advantages and disadvantages of registry cleaners?

In my world, they are pretty much useless. As i’d rather reinstall my OS, then doing temporary solutions.
In best case scenario they make your computer faster, and fix corrupted data.
Worst case, they delete vital files from your system32 folder.
Ccleaner is always good for uninstalling though.

some people swear by them.others call them useless.i don’t use them anymore and i don’t have any performance issues.if you decide you want to try one out always make a back up before deletion.ccleaner and any good registry cleaner will always give you that option.why back up? because it is possible for a registry cleaner to delete something you really need and then your system is hosed.

happened to me years ago.didnt back up and the cleaner removed something the system really needed.
